  Jean Baker Miller, director of the Jean Baker Miller Training Institute , Linda Hartling associate director of JBMTI, were appointed to the advisory board for Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies. This board is a global network of scholars, researchers, and practitioners collaboratively studying the impact of disrespect and humiliation on individual, social, and international relationships. At the association's 2004 annual meeting in Paris, Hartling presented and led a discussion on "The Role of the Humiliator."
